At Rox Resources, sustainability is central to how we operate as we become Western Australia’s next gold producer by advancing the 100%-owned Youanmi Gold Mine through construction and towards first gold.
As we develop and grow, we are committed to doing what is right, not just what is easy. We know that our success depends on delivering value for those that we depend on.
Having secured a positive Final Investment Decision, full project funding, and all major approvals for Youanmi, the Board of Rox Resources is focused on embedding sustainability into every stage of delivery. From environmental stewardship and community relationships through to risk management and governance, sustainability is integral as we unlock the true value of our assets for all our stakeholders.
Managing our environmental footprint responsibly and efficiently
Strong regulatory track record, with all major project approvals secured and environmental management requirements embedded into project delivery to support ongoing compliance and streamlined approvals.
We are utilising Glencore’s Albion Process® and emissions modelling, alongside a hybrid gas and solar energy model, to support efficient and lower emissions gold recovery.
We are establishing robust water management systems and water balance modelling to manage water quality and quantity, across the mine lifecycle.
We have invested in a hybrid energy model with approximately 36% renewables and battery storage to lower emissions intensity and diesel dependence.
Our team is proactively advancing tailings and waste planning to support responsible development and long-term environmental outcomes.
Creating strong relationships and shared value with local communities
We are focused on future workforce planning and capability mapping to guide targeted recruitment and training for critical and specialised roles, and future workforce design, underpinned by a clear Employee Value Proposition to attract and retain talent.
We are strengthening workforce readiness through scalable safety systems and a proactive safety culture as construction ramps up.
We are committed to building strong partnerships with Traditional Owners through early and ongoing engagement to support Indigenous employment pathways, traineeships, youth education, Indigenous art and cultural inclusion, as well as investment in employee cultural awareness training.
We continue to support the Murchison region through local sponsorships and partnerships, including the Wirnda Barna Art Centre and Mount Magnet District High School to promote education, sports, arts, cultural connection and community participation.
Embedding robust governance and risk management to support delivery
We are strengthening governance through improved ESG data management, clear Board oversight, enhanced climate risk capability, and greater integration of sustainability into Board decision-making.
We work on integrating climate and environmental risks into enterprise risk frameworks ahead of production to de-risk operations and protect continuity.
Supporting regional economic participation by seeking opportunities for local employment, regional procurement, and supplier partnerships where available, while contributing to the foundations for long-term growth and prosperity in the Murchison region.
